Perfor-lecture ‘100 Years in 100 Minutes (on Your Own Two Feet)'

How the development of contemporary dance is linked to social, human and political processes. Why dance is not just a set of movements, but also a set of values, views and beliefs. What dances we could and can dance today and even tomorrow…

In this lecture, we will learn about the key choreographers of 20th-century contemporary dance and try out for ourselves the ideas they introduced, which changed perceptions of the body, action and the self.
We will ask ourselves the questions they asked themselves, society and art.
The performance lecture format implies that we treat history not as information and facts, but as a playful and safe space for gaining our own experience. We try simple tasks, answer questions step by step, and immerse ourselves in the development of dance as a process.
